Stephen, 20, 3rd year Politics student at Strathclyde University, bisexual(ish), feminist, socialist, cinephile, reader, bookblogger and King in the North.
I mostly use this blog for book reviews, though I dabble in theatre, video games, music, telvision and film every now and then, too. I’ve wanted to expand into Scottish politics for a while but so far never feel confident or knowledgeable enough to do so.
I’ve recently developed a new format for reviews in the form of a conversation / discussion / debate / outright argument between the Optimist and the Cynic in me. I’m greatly enjoying writing reviews this way; it gives me a chance to describe the book in a fun way and to include all the points I want to make, even the contradictary ones (especially the contraditory ones, in fact). I’m eager to hear if people enjoy reading this kind of review so let me know about that if you do (or why you don’t like it). Part of the reason for this blog is to get myself writing more regularly and improve on it so you can even feel free to make corrections / suggestions if you’re wont to do so.
Enjoy the blog!
